How it works

The file is decoded and drawn onto a canvas in your own tab. It is not uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.

Photos are read with their EXIF rotation applied, so a picture taken on a phone in portrait does not come out sideways — which is what happens when a canvas is handed the raw pixels.

The crop fills the frame rather than fitting inside it, so nothing is exported with letterbox bars baked into the file. Zoom and the two position sliders decide which part of the picture survives.

Questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. It is decoded and drawn on a canvas element inside this page. These pages are static files with no server behind them, so there is no endpoint the picture could be sent to even in principle.

Why is my photo cropped rather than squashed?

Because a squashed face is worse than a cropped one. The picture is scaled until it fills the frame and the overhang is cut; the zoom and position sliders choose which part survives. Nothing is exported with letterbox bars in the file.

Where do the sizes come from?

Each preset is tagged on the page with whether Bluesky actually published it. Several widely-used sizes were never published by anybody — they are conventions that work, and the tool says which is which rather than presenting all of them as specifications.

What happens to the text I paste in?

Nothing. There is no server behind these pages — the tool is JavaScript running in your tab, so what you type stays in the browser and is never sent anywhere, by us or by anyone else.

Is it really free, and is there a catch?

Free, with no sign-up, no limit and no watermark. These tools cost us nothing to run because they run on your computer rather than ours. We build them because the people who need them are the people who might eventually want the product they sit next to — that is the whole arrangement, and it does not require anything from you.

Plan it once, ship it everywhere.

Influenar's brand kit holds the media you already own alongside your voice and style, so the picture that belongs with a post is already there when the draft is written — rather than resized, downloaded and re-uploaded each time.
